Carports Bellville
Bellville sits inland in the Northern Suburbs, roughly 20 km from the coast, so salt is not the governing factor here — heat and summer glare are. Standard footings are normally sufficient and the south-easter arrives weaker than it does on the West Coast. That combination makes shade net the most common choice in Bellville and Bellville South, with steel the usual upgrade where a solid roof and full rain runoff are wanted. Plot sizes through Oakdale, Boston and Loevenstein generally suit a single or double bay off the existing driveway rather than a freestanding structure.
Carports Somerset West
Somerset West and the wider Helderberg basin take the south-easter funnelled down off the Hottentots Holland, and the seaward side toward Strand carries False Bay salt. Both change the specification: a higher fixing count and deeper footings for the wind, and galvanised or aluminium framing with marine-grade fixings closer to the water. Plots are typically larger than in the metro, so longer spans and freestanding structures are more common here than anywhere except the Winelands. We quote Somerset West, Strand and Gordon’s Bay on the same basis as the rest of the metro.
